| Abstrak Indonesia's mangrove forests are the largest mangrove forests in the world. The area of mangrove ecosystems in Indonesia reaches 75% of the total mangroves in Southeast Asia, or about 27% of the world's mangroves. The purpose of the study was to find out how the behavior of the community in preserving mangrove forests in Sigenti Village, Tinombo Selatan District, Parigi Moutong Regency. This research was conducted using a descriptive method to describe a number of variables related to the problem and unit being studied through the steps of collecting primary and secondary data. The analytical method used is descriptive method with a 1-3-5 scale (Modified Likert Scale). Based on the results of the study, it was found that the behavior of the community in preserving mangrove forests had been carried out, namely replanting mangrove seeds, and calling on people who work as fishermen not to damage the roots of mangrove plants when looking for fish. So that the fish habitat in the mangrove forest area is maintained. The direct benefits of the mangrove forest ecosystem consist of mangrove seedlings, fisheries (shrimp ponds), and tourism. |
