| Abstrak The continuous increase in the population of Palu City will have implications for high pressure on space utilization, so that urban spatial planning needs special attention, especially regarding the provision of green open spaces in urban areas. This study aims to measure the environmental quality in the green open space of Palu city based on bird indicators through the species composition and guild category. Data collection took place from October to November 2019, this research was conducted in green open spaces in Palu City, including: Doyata City Park, South Palu District. City Forest, Mantikulore Subdistrict, park along the hammer river path, East Palu District. Mohammad Yamin Median stret Park, South Palu District, East Palu District Sports Center Park, and Mantikulore District Forest Park. The results showed that the environmental quality in six locations of green open space in Palu City which had been studied based on the guild category by bird species resulted in a low environmental quality index. The low index of environmental quality is indicated by the lack of resources that can be utilized by bird species in the green open spaces of Palu City. The results of the grouping of the guild by bird species in the green open space of Palu City showed that generalist birds were more dominant than specialist bird species, so the results of the environmental quality index calculation were low.
