Abstrak Bay leaf (Syzygium polyanthum) (Wight) Walp.) is traditionally used as a medicine for stomach ache, stopping excessive bowel movements, treating gout, high cholesterol, improving blood circulation, gastritis, itching, and diabetes. Kersen (Mutingia calabura L.) is traditionally used to reduce the risk of diabetes, anti-inflammatory and improve the body's immune system. Therefore, it is necessary to standardize the simplicia of kersen leaves and bay leaves. This study was conducted to determine the non-specific parameter values of ethanol extracts of bay leaves and kersen leaves. Ethanol extracts of bay leaves and kersen leaves were obtained by the mesarasi method using 96% ethanol solvent. Non-specific parameter tests using the Ministry of Health guidelines (2002) include drying loss, water content, total ash content, acid-insoluble ash content, specific gravity, solvent residue, microbial contamination, and heavy metal contamination. The results showed that the extracts of cherry leaves and bay leaves met the requirements of all non-specific parameters except for total ash content which had a value of ? 2.5%. This is due to contamination factors, processing errors, or the type of sample itself which has a lot of mineral content.
