Abstrak
The purple Maman plant, also known as Cleome rutidosperma, is an annual herbaceous plant, and is commonly known as the Fringed Spider Flower. Maman Ungu is used as a medicinal plant which is believed to cure disease and has broad activity, among others, as an antibacterial, anticancer, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and diuretic. This study aims to determine the fingerprint profile of the ethanol extract of purple maman (Cleome rutiduspermae) and determine the class of its characteristic compounds in order to avoid counterfeiting of medicinal raw materials and to maintain the authenticity of the medicines produced. Plant extracts were obtained by extracting simplicia powders from maman purple leaves, maman sand and maman kuning using a sonicator which was carried out for 20 minutes with a frequency of 42 kHz to produce ethanol extract. Phytochemical profiles of medicinal plants were obtained using TLC of silica plates G60F254 as the mobile phase of chloroform : methanol with a ratio of 9 : 0.1. Spraying the TLC results using H2SO4 10% reagent and in the oven for 20 minutes, then observed under a UV lamp 366 nm and 254 nm. To ensure the phytochemical profile obtained, a method validation was carried out to determine the stability of the analytes on plates and in solution, the stability of the analytes during chromatography, the stability of visualization, specificity, precision, intermediate precision, rigor to the developer vessel and rigor to developer distance. The results of the analysis of the finger scale pattern of the purple maman plant obtained the characteristic compounds of purple maman leaves against green maman sand and yellow maman leaves at an Rf value of 0.58. Identification of the secondary metabolite compound class was obtained by the characteristic compound, namely tannins using FeCl3. The results of characterization using UV-Vis obtained 5 peaks at wavelengths of 354.5 nm, 407.5 nm, 533.5 nm, 609.5 nm, and 666.0 nm. Based on literature studies, the peak of the wave is a tannin compou Keywords:Maman ungu, Cleome rutidosperma, Fingerprint, TLC analysis, Tanin
