| Abstrak A lack of understanding regarding the proper and rational use of drugs, and excessive use of free drugs, and a lack understanding of how to preserve and dispose of drugs properly, treatment errors have been many asa result of peoples limited knowledge of medicine. Thus the pharmacist has a great responsibility in administering self medication as the proper provider of information to prevent errors in the treatment. The method of collecting samples in this study uses one of the scope of the non random sampling, which is purposive sampling. Studies based on the characterisics of the respondents, good knowlegde levels fall into the age category of 18-28 years old (93,5%), female gender (67,25%), high school education (67,5%), sudent job type (70,75%), the most widely known question “are you convinced of the advice of the pharmacist to something other than drugs” (95%). Of the 400 respondets observed, 7% had low knowledge and 93% had high knowledge. The conclusion of the study was 93% were well informed, the results could be known that the public knowledge of the pharmacist role in administering the self medication in central sulawesi was good, since most of the resondents in the class were generally known about the pharmacist.
