| Abstrak Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a condition of abnormalities in the body's metabolic process that occurs when the insulin produced by the pancreas is not sufficient or the insulin produced is not responded to by the body to increase the concentration of sugar in the blood or commonly referred to as hyperglycemia. This research was conducted to determine the level of knowledge and how the differences in knowledge after counseling by pharmacists in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Madani Palu Hospital. This type of research is an observational research that is descriptive with a total sample of 59 people taken by purposive sampling. The time to collect research data was during February-March 2020. The test used in this study was the paired sample t-test with the pretest-postest design. From the research results, it was obtained that the knowledge of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Madani Hospital Palu as a whole was categorized as sufficient, namely as many as 35 people (59%), there was also an effect of counseling by pharmacists on the level of knowledge of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Madani Hospital Palu. The statistical test results of paired sample t-test obtained the value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0,000, which value is less than 0.05. |
