Abstrak
The use of off-label category drugs for therapeutic purposes must require a process of proving efficacy and risk of side effects so that the drug is safe when used. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of off-label drugs in ob-gyn patients and determine the percentage of off-label drugs based on the criteria for indication, dosage, and route of administration. This research is a descriptive study conducted prospectively by collecting secondary data in the form of medical records which include drugs, indications, age, dosage, and route of administration. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. In this study, ob-gyn patients who underwent examination at the Inpatient installation of Regional Public Hospital Madani were 114 patients with a percentage of the incidence of off-label drug use indications of 7.17%, off-label dose of 2.71%, and off-label route of administration 2 71%. The prescription of off-label drugs namely ondansetron which is indicated for nausea and vomiting of pregnant women in 21 cases, misoprostol which is indicated in labor induction and abortion in 14 cases and dexamethason as fetal lung maturation in 2 cases. So in conclusion, there are 3 types of off-label drugs used by ob-gyn patients at Regional Public Hospital Madani.
