ABSTRACT Endophytic fungi are microorganisms that grow in plant tissue without causing negative effects, mutualism symbiotic with the host plant, so that it has similar characteristics. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial and antioxidant activity of endophytic fungi from rhizomes of white ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.). This study used endophytic fungi with direct planting method on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) media. The identification results obtained 2 endophytic fungal isolates coded J1 and J2. The antibacterial test was carried out using the supernatant from the fermentation of the third day, sixth and ninth isolates J1 and J2 with concentrations of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50%, each of which was replicated in triplo. Antibacterial test results showed that the highest inhibition zone diameter was at a concentration of 50% for Escherichia coli bacteria, namely isolates J1 of 10.79 mm and J2 of 11.44 mm. On the other hand, the antibacterial activity of isolates J1 was 910,21 mm and J2 was 10.23 mm for Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. From 6 isolates, the rf value was 0.82 cm; 0.87 cm; 0.75 cm; 0.85 cm; 0.57 cm and 0.74 cm, the data obtained can be seen to have antioxidant activity as seen from the yellow spots on the chromatography plate after being sprayed with DPPH. Key words: Endophytic fungi, white ginger rhizome (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus
