Abstrak
ABSTRACT People who still use plants as traditional medicine are the Bugis tribe in Panca Rijang District, Sidrap Regency, South Sulawesi. The Bugis people use natural ingredients, for example, which are often used, such as papaya leaves, boiled with 2-3 cups of water after boiling into 1 cup of water, taken 2-3 times a day. This type of research is a descriptive study that uses qualitative methods and purposive sampling technique sampling through semi-structured interviews. The results of the study found that plants used as medicine for malaria by the Bugis tribe of Panca Rijang District, Sidrap Regency, South Sulawesi include, papaya leaves, sembung leaves, miana leaves, white turmeric rhizomes, sambiloto leaves, brotowali stems, and bendotan herbs. And the plant parts used are 42.9% green leaves, 14.3% purple leaves, 14.3% rhizomes, 14.3% stems and 14.3% herbs. The method of processing medicinal plants by the Bugis tribe in the District of Panca Rijang is by boiling 7 and by shredding 2, the presentation of which is drunk according to the dose and distributed throughout the body. When the use of plants as medicine for malaria from the start feeling the symptoms until the symptoms disappear. The chemical content of plants that are useful as traditional medicines to treat combined malaria are flavonoids, alkaloids, tinokrisposid, androgapholide, and papain enzymes.
