Abstrak
The Lauje tribal society in Sidoan District still use medicinal plants as traditional medicine. One of the diseases that can be treated with traditional medicine is high blood pressure. This study aims to determine the use of traditional medicines as high blood pressure by the Lauje people. This research is a descriptive study using qualitative methods and purposive sampling sampling techniques. The results of the study found 12 types of plants and parts used, namely leaves (soursop, lime, basil, chocolate, cherry, pandanus, moringa, starfruit and African leaves), tubers (garlic), rhizome (white turmeric), fruit ( chayote). The most widely used plant parts are leaves (75%), and other parts of tubers (8%), rhizomes (8%), and fruits (8%). The most common method of processing plants is boiling as much (53%) and other ways of brewing as much (35%) and squeezing as much (12%). The dosage of the ingredients used to treat high blood pressure are leaves in the form of grips and sheets, turmeric in the form of finger joints, garlic in the form of seeds, and chayote in the form of fruit. The compounds contained in medicinal plants to treat high blood pressure are alisin, phytol, arginine, flavonoids, curcumin, and potassium.
