Abstrak
Environmentally friendly bioplastics are made by utilizing water spinach waste. The aims of this study were to determine the effect of temperature on the synthesis of bioplastics and to determine the characteristics of bioplastics produced from water spinach waste at various temperatures of 30°C, 50°C, and 70°C. Research using CH3COOH and PVA. The resulting bioplastic film is brown in color and flexible. The bioplastic characterization results showed that the tensile strength values obtained were 2.63 MPa – 5.16 MPa, elongation values were 6.00% – 7.13%, Young's modulus values were 20.60 MPa – 36.26 MPa. Water absorption is quite high with a percentage of 138.71% – 263.16%. The results of the antioxidant activity were very weak with an IC50 value of 261.316 ppm – 389.291 ppm.
