A research entitled The Study of Addition Silver Nanoparticles (AgNPs) to the Response of Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) Sensors Using Python, has been carried out, which aims to study the SPR phenomenon in a multilayer system computationally, and to observe the effect of adding silver nanoparticles to the response of SPR-based sensing instruments. The research process includes determining the configuration model of the multilayer system, calculating the thin layer dielectric constant, simulating the SPR excitation, and calculating the performance generated by each sensor model. Computational analysis shows that the SPR can be excited in a certain wavelength range, the magnitude of which is strongly influenced by the optical characteristics of the multilayer. The simulation results show that a silver film with a thickness of 45 nm provides the best reflectance spectrum for each model. Meanwhile, the use of PEDOT: PSS polymer as a sensing medium in conventional gas sensor models has proven to be capable of producing sensors with high resolution. The results showed that the sensor modification through the addition of a thin layer of silver nanoparticles with a certain size and thickness into the conventional gas sensor model could increase the sensitivity of the sensor.
