Abstrak
Cocoa (Theobroma cacao) is a plantation that is widely developed in Indonesia. Cocoa beans will produce chocolate after a series of processing. From 2012 to 2016, Central Sulawesi occupies the first position as a cocoa-producing region. However, in 2017 there was a significant decrease in productivity. The decrease in productivity was caused by pests and diseases that attack cocoa plants and the lack of knowledge possessed by farmers caused difficult problems to be overcome. This research was conducted to build an expert system application using the Dempster-Shafer method that can diagnose pests and diseases that attack cocoa plants based on the symptoms given and provide a solution to overcome them. In this study there were 33 symptoms, 6 types of pests, 5 types of diseases, and 11 rules. The dempster-shafer method calculates the density according to the symptoms entered and produces a diagnosis based on the highest density value. Tests conducted in this study are blackbox testing and algorithm testing. This test is performed to see the system functions are running well and the system can diagnose pests and diseases in accordance with the results of expert diagnoses.
