Abstrak
At the Poso 1 Energy Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA), changes in the interconnection network load on the generator that occur every time will cause changes in the generator voltage value and can affect how the generator performs either lagging or leading. The lagging condition of the generator is influenced by inductive loads, causing the current to lag behind the voltage. For the Leading condition on the generator, it is generally caused by capacitive loads where the current condition will precede the voltage. The purpose of this study is to find out how the impact of load changes on the magnitude of excitation changes in maintaining generator voltage stability and the relationship between excitation currents and changes in reactive power loads in leading generator conditions caused by capacitive loads on the interconnection network at PLTA Poso 1 Energy. From the research that has been done, it is found that in the condition of the leading generator, the smaller the reactive load absorbed by the generator, the greater the excitation current supplied and this will apply vice versa. From this study it can also be seen that changes in the excitation current value will also affect the cosphi value where in the leading condition, the greater the excitation current supplied, the cosphi will be closer to 1
