Abstrak Arwan Amir F 331 18 065 “Numerical Simulation of the Deflection of Mild Steel Profile C Using Reinforcement Plate” Supervised by Mustafa This study aims to determine how big deflection occurs in mild steel profile C with variations in the number and position of the reinforcing plate by numerical simulation. This research uses mild steel profile C TS.C.75.75. The deflection test uses a clamp-and-tie type of support and centralized loading with L/2 loads of 10 kg, 15 kg, 20 kg and 25 kg. This research was conducted using SolidWorks software to draw specimens and imported into ANSYS Workbench 15.0 to perform numerical simulation. The results showed that the deflection occurred in the C profile mild steel with a load variation of 25 kg at a distance of 750 mm with variations in the number of front and rear reinforcing plates. The greater the load given, the greater the deflection value that occurs in the C profile mild steel without the reinforcement plate, the deflection value is 4.26 mm. For the front reinforcement plate the largest deflection value is 3.88 mm, while the smallest deflection value is 2.94 mm. For the rear reinforcement plate the largest deflection value is 3.62 mm, while the smallest deflection value is 2.91 mm. For variations in the position of the reinforcement plate the smallest deflection occurs at the rear position of the reinforcing plate when compared to the front position of the reinforcing plate this is due to the rear position of the addition of the reinforcing plate in accordance with the profile or covered so that the stiffness value is greater when compared to the reinforcing plate in the front position.
