Abstrak
Critical land is an environmental issue arising from land use that exceeds its carrying and supporting capacity, leading to land degradation, decreased productivity, and increased disaster risk. Dolo Selatan Subdistrict in Sigi Regency is a disaster-prone area, vulnerable to floods, landslides, and earthquakes, with a varied topography. This study aims to identify the level of land degradation and formulate spatial utilization directives based on the biophysical conditions of the area. A quantitative approach was employed through a scoring method involving several key parameters of critical land, including land cover, erosion level, forest area function, and slope gradient. The analysis was carried out using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) through an overlay technique between the critical land map and the land capability class map to produce appropriate spatial planning directions. Recommended rehabilitation strategies include vegetative approaches such as reforestation, agroforestry, and greening, as well as civil engineering approaches such as terracing, check dams, drainage channels, and infiltration holes (rorak). Additionally, the study proposes prioritized rehabilitation zones and planned cultivation zones, along with recommended activities such as community-based forest management (CBFM), soil and water conservation, and economic empowerment through intercropping. Sand mining is also recommended as a sediment control measure. These efforts aim not only to mitigate environmental degradation but also to improve agricultural and forestry productivity and enhance the well-being of local communities. The findings are expected to serve as a foundation for the development of sustainable and disaster-adaptive land use policies.
