Abstrak FATURRAHMAN PAGESSA Research Title: "Suitability Analysis of Sintuwu Maroso Traditional Market (Clean) Location in Poso City" Supervisors: Lutfi and Ardiansyah Winarta. This study aims to evaluate the suitability of market locations in Poso City from both physical and non-physical aspects. The objectives include identifying the market location's suitability based on physical factors, assessing it from non-physical factors, and determining the most appropriate location for the market. This research employs a qualitative method with a spatial approach. Informants consist of buyers, traders, market managers, and relevant government officials, particularly from the Department of Industry and Trade of Poso Regency. The study uses purposive sampling and incidental sampling techniques. Analytical methods applied include land capability analysis, narrative analysis, and scoring analysis. The findings indicate that the most suitable market location is Market I, located in Gebang Rejo Village, Poso Kota Subdistrict. This location is highly strategic as it is situated in the city center, which has a high population density. Its proximity to community activity hubs and accessibility for all groups make it highly potential for development. The study concludes that the current market location, despite being situated on land with high development capability, is less optimal due to its distance from the city center, limited accessibility, and violation of river boundary regulations. Market I is considered the most suitable location for market development due to its central position and proximity to residential areas. Although construction at this site requires earthmoving techniques (cut-and-fill), it offers better accessibility and the potential for increased sales volume. Meanwhile, Market II, despite being located on land with very high development capability, faces similar accessibility challenges as the current market due to its distance from the city center. Thus, Market II is deemed less suitable for market development.
