| Abstrak Energy has an important role in achieving social, economic and environmental goals in the context of sustainable development. Also, it is a supporter of national economic activities. The use of energy in Indonesia has increased rapidly in line with the growth of economic, population and the level of community life. Consequently, this must be considered and minimized by applying the concept of energy-efficient design which respects to the surrounding environment started from the smallest line, the house. This study used the Design Analysis Method, in which the data collected were in the form of explanations, pictures from the research location survey, literature studies, related regulations, and documents related to this research. Subsequently, the data collected were, then, compiled and classified according to its type to be analyzed using qualitative and quantitative approach.The results of its analysis became the basis for drawing conclusions in formulating the design reference concept. The results of this study recommended an Energy-Efficient Home Design in Palu City that respected the surrounding environment by applying concepts that considered location, building envelope, mass composition, layout, openings, and vegetation.
