EVALUASI EFEKTIVITAS PENGOLAHAN SAMPAH PADA BANK SAMPAH NAVOE DALAM MENGURANGI VOLUME SAMPAH DI KELURAHAN TAIPA KOTA PALU Jihan Afilah S. Mentemas, Dr. Ir. EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF WASTE PROCESSING AT NAVOE WASTE BANK IN REDUCING WASTE VOLUME IN TAIPA SUBDISTRICT, PALU CITY Jihan Afilah S. Mentemas, Dr. Ir. Setiyawan, S.T., M.T, Alricha, S.KM, M.Sc ABSTRACT Waste problems in Taipa Sub-district, Palu City, particularly plastic waste, continue to increase along with population growth and changing consumption patterns. Plastic waste, which is difficult to decompose, has the potential to cause environmental pollution if not properly managed. One of the mitigation efforts implemented is community-based waste management at the Navoe Waste Bank through an innovation that converts plastic waste into fuel oil using the pyrolysis method. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of waste processing at the Navoe Waste Bank in reducing waste volume and to analyze the quality of pyrolysis-derived fuel oil based on its lead (Pb) content. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, documentation, and laboratory testing of lead (Pb) content. Data analysis was conducted using pyrolysis yield calculations and multiple linear regression analysis to determine the influence of waste generation, waste reduction, and other residual waste on the lead content of the fuel oil. The regression analysis results showed a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.993 with a significance value of 0.021. The results also indicated that processing 8 kg of plastic waste produced approximately 150 ml of fuel oil with a yield of 1.39%, while the lead (Pb) content ranged from 0.0013 to 0.0070 g/L, which is below the quality standard of 0.013 g/L. Therefore, plastic waste processing through pyrolysis at the Navoe Waste Bank is considered effective in reducing waste volume and producing alternative fuel that meets quality standards. Keywords: Waste Bank, plastic waste processing, pyrolysis, fuel oil, lead (Pb).
