Abstrak
The earthquake that occurred on September 28, 2018, with a magnitude of 7.5 Mw that shook Central Sulawesi resulted in liquefaction in Jono Oge Village. There are problems related to liquefaction, such as the value of shear strength after liquefaction and deformation and the difficulty of obtaining representative sand specimens for testing. The purpose of this study is to determine the residual shear strength characteristics of liquefied sand, the effect of relative density and residual shear strength of liquefied sand, and its impact on dilatancy. In this study, we used soil specimens of liquefied sand from Jono Oge that passed the #8 sieve and retained the #200 sieve which were then molded based on relative densities of 20%, 35%, and 50%. Tests to determine the parameters of soil shear strength using direct shear test equipment. The results showed that the cohesion value decreased as the relative density increased, while the inner friction angle value increased as the relative density increased. Test results and calculations show an increase in shear strength along with an increase in relative density, in addition, the increase in relative density also increases the dilatancy value and shear modulus of the soil.
