Abstrak
Ambunu Village, located near the mining operations of PT Indonesia Huabao Industrial Park (PT IHIP), presents a high geotechnical susceptibility to liquefaction. This vulnerability arises from a combination of potential mining-induced vibrations, soft-textured soils, and a shallow groundwater table. The present study aims to characterize the soil conditions and assess liquefaction potential through Swedish Weight Sounding (SWS) testing, complemented by laboratory analyses including grain size distribution, Atterberg limits, and unit weight determination. Field investigations were conducted at ten locations, with groundwater depths averaging 1.25 m, measured from local wells. Laboratory results identified the soils as poorly graded sand with clay (SC) and well-graded sand with clay (SW–SC). SWS results indicated Nsw values ranging from 0.00 to 312.50 n/m, allowable bearing capacities (qa) between 0.00 and 315.71 kN/m², and unconfined compressive strengths (qu) from 2.25 to 312.86 kN/m². Factor of safety (FS) values between 0.15 and 0.77 suggest that all test points are susceptible to liquefaction at varying depths, generally less than 5 m. With a peak ground acceleration (amax) of 0.34 g and an earthquake magnitude of 7.4 Mw, the findings confirm that Ambunu Village is at significant risk of liquefaction, underscoring the importance of incorporating this hazard into infrastructure planning and disaster mitigation strategies.
