ABSTRACT On September 28, 2018, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 occurred in the Central Sulawesi region. This earthquake not only triggered a tsunami but also a liquefaction phenomenon that occurred in land areas in Palu City and Sigi Regency. This liquefaction phenomenon causes some damages to buildings and road infrastructures and also causes huge casualties. Based on the potential liquefaction zone map, Tanamodindi Village itself is included in the potential liquefaction zone category. So that, the author wants to know the potential for liquefaction in Tanamodindi Village, especially around the Jalan Merpati North Segment area. This research was carried out using the Swedish Weight Sounding test, analysis of liquefaction potential based on the Tsuchida (Gradation) method, Modifield Chinese Criteria method, Atterberg data and CRR and CSR analysis based on N-SPT data converted from Nsw. The results of Swedish Weight Sounding with depth produce the main parameters, namely Nsw, qa and qu values. The Nsw value ranges from 0.00 - 375.00 n/m, the qa value ranges from 0.00 - 330.00 KN/m2 and the qu value ranges from 30.00 - 255.00 KN/m2. Meanwhile, from the results of laboratory tests, soil classification was obtained from 10 sample points, namely SC, ML and Cl soil types. According to Tsuchida, all soil gradations from the 10 test points have the potential for liquefaction. According to the Modifield Chinese Criteria, some have the potential for liquefaction and others have great potential and according to the Fs value, which was analyzed from Nsw data, at the Swedish Weight Sounding test points at P1, P4, P6, P7, P8 and P9 the potential for liquefaction to occur at varying depths. Key words: Merpati Street, Tanamodindi, SWS, Potential, Liquefaction
