Abstrak The earthquake on 28 September 2018 in Central Sulawesi with a magnitude of 7.4 caused some areas to experience disasters such as the tsunami and liquefaction that occurred in the Palu, Sigi and Donggala areas. The liquefaction disaster that hit Palu City occurred in the Balaroa and Petobo areas. Based on this, a study was conducted in the area of Kelor Street, Balaroa Village, Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province, regarding the analysis of the potential for liquefaction, whether the area has the potential for liquefaction, if an earthquake occurs. The purpose of this study was to determine soil characteristics and determine liquefaction potential based on Swedish Weight Sounding Test data and Standard Penetration Test data. Determination of soil characteristics is carried out by testing sieve analysis, Atterberg limits, bulk density, specific gravity and relative density, while the determination of the liquefaction potential is carried out with 2 points of Swedish Weight Sounding Test data and 1 point of Standard Penetration Test data which is data secondary. Soil samples tested to a depth of 0.8 m are SP-SM soil types, namely poorly graded sand and silty sand. While the results of the Swedish Weight Sounding Test obtained the Nsw value which exceeds the safe limit for P1 which is at a depth of 6.00 m and 6.19 m, for qa it is at a depth of 6.00 m and 6.19 m, for qu it is at a depth of 6 .00 m and 6.19 m, while for P2, the Nsw value that exceeds the safe limit is at a depth of 1.75 m, 2.00 m, 4.00 m, 5.50 m, 6.25 m, and 6 .43 m, for qa it is at a depth of 2.00 m, 4.00 m, 5.50 m, 6.25 m, and 6.43 m, for qu it is at a depth of 6.43 m, while the results of the Standard Penetration Test have varying values, based on the results of the Standard Penetration Test data processing, the potential for liquefaction occurs at a depth of 0,50 m – 6.00 m, 8,50 m - 9.00 m, 14,50 m – 15,00 m, 16,50 m – 17,00 m, and 21,50 m – 22,00 m, because FS value < 1 |
