Abstrak
Central Sulawesi Province is one of the regions in Indonesia which is prone to large-scale earthquakes and the impact of the damage caused is quite extensive. The land movements that were allegedly caused by liquefaction in Balaroa and Petobo housing were among the ones that claimed the most lives and damaged various facilities and infrastructure. From the observations in the field has obtained information on a mixture of water and sand mud coming out of the soil at several locations in the city of Palu, for example, which is located around the West Palu Jl. Jamur, this event caused damage to the building structure. This study aims to determine how the characteristics of the physical and mechanical properties of the allegedly liquefied soil in the city of Palu. This research was conducted by taking soil samples using a hand boring tool and conducting a Cone Penetration Test (CPT) at the point where it was suspected to be liquidated, then testing in the Laboratory and analyzing the data calculates the value of Cyclic Stress Ratio (CSR), Cyclic Resistance Ratio (CRR), and Liquefaction Potential Index (LPI). Inspection results for the mechanical properties of the soil show the percentage of soil that passes the sieve 200 no more than 20%, the average soil water content (w) is 7.39%, the average soil density (Gs) is 2.67, and the liquid limit value (LL) the average is 20.80%. While the results of the analysis of CPT data indicate that, the value of the Liquefaction Potential Index (LPI) at point 1 has a low to high index of liquefaction, while points 2 and 3 have a low index of liquefaction and have the potential to occur in silt or silt soils sandy silt. Keyword : Liquefaction, CPT, CSR, CRR, LPI
