Cocoa (Theobroma Cacao L) is a leading plantation commodity. Indonesia is included in the top three major cocoa producers in the world. However, the amount of national cocoa production has not been able to meet market demand, both at home and abroad. The high demand for cocoa causes the selling price of cocoa to be high and the market absorption is relatively stable. In addition, Indonesia is the third largest cocoa producer in the world at 13.6?ter Ivory Coast (38.3%) and Ghana (20.2%). This achievement was obtained by the existence of a national movement for cocoa commodity development by the government in 2009. At that time, the area of cocoa plantations in Indonesia reached 1,745,789 hectares with a total production of 828,255 tons, which are spread across several provinces in Indonesia such as East Java, North Sumatra, East Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi. Cocoa also has an important role in development because it can provide jobs for household farmers, laborers, and users of agricultural imports. In the future, it is hoped that it can provide job opportunities for farmers in the transportation, food industry, beverage industry, restaurant / restaurant and semi-finished cocoa processing industry, therefore cocoa plantations not only accommodate job opportunities but also become a source of income for some rural and urban communities.
