Abstrak The development and expansion of the cultivation area of upland rice is a step to increase food production, because expanding the area of paddy fields is increasingly difficult. Efforts to obtain phenotypes and genotypes with superior characters can be carried out through selection and testing in plant breeding programs. The research aims to obtain better morphological characters in several local upland rice lines resulting from mass selection and determine the value of phenotypic and genotypic diversity from low to high in several local upland rice lines resulting from mass selection. The research was carried out on agricultural land in Tamarenja Village, hamlet (Kalama), at an altitude of 180-250 masl, with a latitude of 00o26'51.5" South Latitude and 119o49'50.6" East Longitude. Sindue District, Donggala Regency. The time of the research started from July 2021 to December 2022. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 6 strains as treatment, namely 1). Black Yellow Kalendeng, 2). Black White Kalendeng, 3). White Kalendeng, 4). White Jahara, 5). Big Pulu Tau Leru , 6). Long Tako , which was repeated four times to obtain 24 trial plots, each experimental plot contained 28 clumps with a total of 672 clumps. The research results showed that the morphological character was better, namely the White Kalendeng strain because it produced the highest production per hectare, the highest number of grains per panicle and had the longest leaves. The traits observed had relatively high phenotypic diversity coefficient values, namely number of tillers, number of productive tillers, percentage of empty grain, production per hectare, and values ??were classified as low except for plant height, leaf length, panicle length, number of grains per panicle which were classified as medium value. The values of genotype diversity coefficients are all low, except for panicle length, number of grains per panicle, percentage of empty grain and production per hectare are classified as medium value. |
