| Abstrak Pakchoy (Brassica rapa L.) is one of the horticultural commodities that has a relatively high economic value in Indonesia. Low growth and production are caused by less intensive cultivation techniques, unfavorable climatic conditions for cultivation, and low soil fertility. The decline in soil fertility is due to the continuous use of chemical fertilizers, low organic matter input, and nutrient leaching. Therefore, it is necessary to improve soil conditions by adding organic matter. Fertilization using cattle manure can improve the physical and biological properties of the soil, such as increasing microbial activity in supporting the decomposition of organic matter. This study aimed to determine the effect of the interaction and each factor of cattle manure application timing and NASA liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of pakchoy. This research was carried out from November 2022 to January 2023 at the Academic Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University. The study used a randomized block design (RBD) with a factorial pattern consisting of two factors: The first factor was the application timing of cattle manure, consisting of three levels: K0 = control, K1 = manure applied 1 week before planting, and K2 = manure applied 2 weeks before planting. The second factor was the application timing of NASA liquid organic fertilizer, consisting of three levels: P1 = fertilizer applied once (10 DAP), P2 = fertilizer applied twice (5 and 15 DAP), and P3 = fertilizer applied three times (5, 15, and 25 DAP). From this design, nine treatment combinations with three replications were obtained, resulting in 27 experimental units. The results of variance analysis showed that cattle manure applied 2 weeks before planting gave the best effect on the growth and yield of pakchoy. Moreover, the application of NASA liquid organic fertilizer three times, namely at 5, 15, and 25 DAP, provided the best effect on the growth of pakchoy plants. |
