Abstrak
The tuba plant (D. elliptica) is a plant species in the Fabaceae (Leguminosae) family that contains the compound rotenone (C23H22O6). This study aims to determine the toxicity of tuba root extract (Derris elliptica B.) against armyworms (Spodoptera frugiperda J.E.Smith) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). This research was carried out at the Plant Pest and Disease Laboratory, Tadulako University. This research was carried out in September-November 2022. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments, 5 concentrations and 1 control. This research used 10 test larvae for each treatment and was repeated 3 times, so that 18 experimental units were obtained. P0= Control, P1= 200mg tuba root extract+100ml distilled water, P2= 100mg tuba root extract+100ml distilled water, P3= 50mg tuba root extract+100ml distilled water, P4= 25mg tuba root extract+100ml distilled water, P5= 12.25mg extract tuba root + 100ml distilled water. Each treatment used 10 test larvae, so the number of test larvae used was 180 S.frugiperda larvae. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that at the Lc50 value, the preliminary test results for tuba root extract showed that mortality was 50% at a concentration of 5=2.25 mg/L distilled water, and for the next concentration used in the further test, namely control (0), 20, 10, 5, 2.5 and 1.25. Treatment by administering high and low concentrations greatly influenced mortality and antifeedant index values, both selected and non-chosen. Observations of antifeedants using selected and non-selected methods at all concentrations showed that the treatment used was not toxic to Spodoptera frugiperda larvae. HKeywords: Tuba Root, Armyworm (S.frugiperda), Antifeedant, Mortality.
