Abstrak
Soil macrofauna are organisms that live on the surface of the soil and in the soil. Soil microorganism groups have many types and vary from protozoa to small invertebrates. Soil macrofauna play a role in various life cycle processes and control various phenomena in the soil which are marked by the closing of nutrient cycles in forest ecosystems . This study aims to identify, analyze and compare the richness of soil macrofauna in forest ecosystems in two different places. The research design used survey and hand-collected methods , namely taking samples by hand manually, as well as identifying soil macrofauna based on morphology at the genus level. The identification results from both elevations showed that the soil invertebrates obtained consisted of 65 genera. There are 27 genera of highland litter, 30 genera of lowland litter, 21 genera of highland and lowland litter. In each elevation there is a dominant genus, such as lowland litter found the genus Aphaenogaster from the family Formicidae. Upland soils contain Lumbricus from the Lumbricidae family, while the lowlands in litter and soil each have a dominant genus, namely Elaphroconcha from the Dyakiidae family.
