Abstrak ABSTRACT The study aims to determine the characterization of soil fungi in several types of rice fields. The method used in this research is descriptive exploratory method and the determination of the observation points is determined by purposive sampling. The isolation of Fungi and soil analysis, were carried out at the Soil Science Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu. From the results of research on the three types of paddy fields, the highest fungi population (cfu) was found in the types of “swamp rice field (SR)” with a total of 40.5 x 105 cfu. Whereas the lowest colony density was found in the type of “rain-fed rice field (STH)” with a total of 25.5 x105 cfu, and the total “medium colony” was found in the type of “technical irrigated rice field (SIT)” with a total of 31 x105 cfu. The Characteristics of soil fungi are found in several types of rice fields, having a colony that is round, oval, irregular and shaped like flower. The colony colors found include yellow, white and brown. While the diameter of the clear zone has different sizes, as well as different shapes and colors. Sr2 has a high water content of 59.86% and the lowest in Sth1 is 30.49%. The acidity (pH) of the soil in each type of rice field is: Sth1 = 6.62 (neutral), Sth2 = 6,86 (neutral), Sr1= 5.13 (acid), Sr2 = 5.35 (acid), Si1 = 7.47 (base) and Si2 = 7.62 (base).
