Abstrak
The growth of explant in culture media is affected by a number of factors, including concentration of plant regulators such as IBA used. The aim of this experiment was to obtain the more suitable IBA concentration in enhancing the growth of seed derived apple var. Fuji via in vitro culture. This research used Completely Randomized Design one factor with treatment tested was the concentrations of IBA consisted of Control (without IBA); 0.2; 0.4; 0.6 and 0.8 ppm IBA. Each treatment used four replications and therefore there were 20 experimental units; each experimental unit was planted with a single seed and brought about the total of 20 seeds used. Variables observed included shoot emerge time, number of leaves and number of roots. Results of this experiment showed that seed derived plantlets were more suitable growing in culture medium supplemented with 0.8 ppm IBA indicated by the increase in growth, especially the formation of roots (average 4.00 root hairs per plantlet) and shoot emerged relatively faster (average 3.25 days after culture).
