?The need for celery always increases from time to time, this increase is caused by the decreasing agricultural land due to land conversion so that it is transferred to developing countries whose land is still large with relatively cheap labor, and unfavorable climatic conditions, especially during winter and autumn practical. The need for vegetables for its people depends on other countries. To meet these needs, it is necessary to increase yields, either through extensification or intensification. One way to increase yield is through selection of growing media. Some of the planting media that are often used are soil media, manure media, husk charcoal and also a mixture of soil with sand or a combination of these media. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of the growing media that affects the growth of celery plants. This research was conducted in Karya Mukti Village, Dampelas District, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The implementation of this research took place from January to March 2020. This study used a randomized block design (RAK) with treatments of various compositions of planting media consisting of 7 levels, namely M0 = Control (soil/topsoil), M1 = (soil : charcoal husk : cow manure = 1:1:1), M2 = (soil : husk charcoal : cow manure = 1:1:2), M3 = (soil: cow manure = 1:2), M4 = (soil : cow manure = 1:1), M5 = (husk charcoal : cow manure = 1:2), M6 = (husk charcoal : cow manure = 1:1). The experiment resulted in 14 treatment combinations, each treatment was repeated three times so that a total of 42 experimental units were obtained. Based on the results of the study, it showed that the treatment of planting media had a significant effect on the growth of celery plants, the treatment of M6 growing media with a combination of husk charcoal and cow manure with a ratio of 1:1 could increase the growth of plant height and fresh weight of celery plants better and different than other treatments. This shows that husk charcoal and cow dung can provide plant nutrients.
