Abstrak Corn productivity has not been able to meet domestic demand, so imports are still being carried out. Increasing corn production is one of the efforts that can be made to suppress corn imports. This study aims to determine the heritability and efficacy values which can be used as indicators of indirect selection to increase maize yields. This research was conducted at the Screen House of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu, Central Sulawesi, from August to November 2019. The tools used include hoes, shovels, water hoses, scales, rulers / gauges, calipers, measuring tubes and writing instruments. The materials used were 5 local sigi corn seeds, polybags, soil, plastic bags, NaCL, savin, fertilizer (KCl, SP-36, Urea). This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 genotypic treatments, namely lanca, ordinary, lei, geno and local pulut maize cultivars, repeated 3 times and each cultivar consisted of 5 units to obtain 75 treatment units. The results showed that the heritability values obtained varied from 30.21 to 99.75. The number of ear seeds, stem diameter, ear height, panicle appearing, harvesting age, green leaves, hair appearing, weight of one hundred seeds, weight of ear seeds, weight of ear without ear, weight of ear with ear, length of ear to ear, are the characteristics has high heritability value, hair anthocyanin properties are classified as moderate. The weight of 100 seeds has a positive correlation coefficient and height on the weight of the cob without weight (yield) so that this trait can be used as an indirect selection criterion to increase the yield of maize. |
