Abstrak
One of the problems faced is a decrease in the productivity of large chilies. This study aims to determine the effect of NPK fertilizer and planting media on the growth and yield of large red chili plants. The study was conducted at the Screen House of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu, which took place from January 2020 to May 2020. This study used a factorial (2 factor) Randomized Block Design (RAK). The first factor is the dose of NPK fertilizer (P) consisting of 4 levels, namely: P1 (without NPK fertilizer), P2 (dose of NPK fertilizer 200 kg/ha), P3 (doses of NPK fertilizer 250 kg/ha), P4 (dose of NPK fertilizer 300 kg/ha). The second factor of planting media (M) consisted of 3 levels, namely: M1 (Soil + Rice Husk Charcoal 2:1), M2, Soil + Sawdust 2:1), M3 (Soil + Husk Charcoal + Sawdust 2: 1:1). Thus there were 12 treatment combinations with 3 replications. Each experimental unit was represented by 3 plants so that there were 108 plants. The results showed that there was no significant interaction between the dose of NPK fertilizer and the growing media as well as the single effect of the growing media on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of fruit, and weight of fruit planted. While the effect of a single dose of NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of large red chili plants showed a significant effect on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of fruits, and weight of fruit planted. The average fruit weight did not differ between the dose of NPK fertilizer 250 kg/ha (P3) 245.27 g and the dose of NPK fertilizer 300 kg/ha (P4) 247.07 g.
