Abstrak ABSTRACT Red onion (Allium Cepa Var Agregatum) of the Palu Valley variety is one of Central Sulawesi's leading commodities and is a raw material for the fried onion processing industry and has become a "local brand" of Palu. One of the uniqueness of this onion that distinguishes it from other shallots is that the tuber has a dense texture so as to produce crispy and savory fried onions and aroma that does not change even if stored for a long time in a closed container. This research is expected to provide information to farmers in implementing the use of waste water from rice washing water (leri water) and the use of proper tuber sizes to increase the yield of shallots. This research was conducted at the Screen House, Tondo. which took place from May to July 2019. This study used a two-factor Randomized Block Design (RCBD). The first factor is the remaining concentration of rice washing water which consists of 5 levels, namely: Without residual rice washing water (control), 0.5 ml concentration, 1 ml concentration, 1.5 ml concentration, and 2 ml concentration. The second factor is the size of different tubers consisting of 3 levels, namely: 1 cm, 1.4 cm, 1.7 cm. Thus there are 15 treatment combinations, each treatment combination is repeated 3 times, so that in total there are 45 units of onion plants experiment. Data obtained from this study were analyzed using diversity analysis. If the results of the analysis of diversity that show real or very real effects will be followed by an honest real difference test (BNJ) to determine differences in the average value between treatments. The results showed that there was no real interaction between the residual rice washing water with tuber size treatment on all parameters of the onion plant observation. The remaining rice washing water significantly affected the plant height parameters at the age of 8 MST and did not affect the other parameters. The tuber size treatment significantly affected all observed variables except plant height, plant dry weight, tuber diameter and root volume. Tuber size treatment of 1.7 cm shows higher yield compared to other treatments. Keywords : Shallot, Remaining Rice Wash Water and Tuber Size |
