| Abstrak Shallot (Allium wakegi Araki) is one type of commodity that has an important meaning for the people of Palu City, economically. Palu shallot, is the most popular specialty product from Palu City. This study was conducted with the aim of obtaining tubers that are good for the growth of red shallot varieties in the Palu lembah. This research was carried out at the Plant Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University. Conducted from February to April 2018. The study was compiled using a completely randomized design consisting of three levels of treatment Large tuber size 5.0 - 7.5 grams, Medium tuber size 2.5 - 5.0 grams , Small tuber size <2.5 grams. The results showed that tuber size significantly affected all growth parameters (when buds appeared, number of shoots, number of leaves, and length of leaves) except the percentage of contamination. All parameters when buds appear, number of shoots, number of leaves, and length of leaves) that produce better growth are the size of bulbs that are large, because the growth of shoots is fast, the number of shoots and number of leaves is large and the length of leaves is longer. |
