Abstrak
Land is a natural resource that has a very important role in human life, and other living things are very dependent on the conditions and conditions of the land. Land suitability is the level of suitability of a plot of land for a particular use. This study aims to evaluate the suitability of land for the development of clove plants (Eugenia aromatica L) in Nambo Village, Bungku Timur District, Morowali District. This research is useful to produce recommendations regarding conformity of land use for the development of clove crops which can be used as input for land use decision making and its management efforts to influence maximum land productivity. The research was conducted from March to July 2018. The research methodology used was the survey method, by conducting a survey directly in the field. The land unit is determined by the results of overlaying two maps, namely the slope map and the land use map. The results of this study indicate that the actual land suitability class for the development of clove plants in the study area has 3 (three) subclasses, namely: S2 class (quite appropriate) found in SPL I, covering an area of 40,4686 ha with limiting factors f (nutrient retention) n (nutrients available). S3 class (according to marginal) is found in SPL II, SPL III, SPL IV covering an area of 281,322 ha with limiting factors f (nutrient retention), n (soil pH) e (erosion hazard level). Class N1 (inappropriate) is found in SPL V, covering an area of 101,171 ha with limiting factors f (nutrient retention), e (level of erosion hazard). After efforts to improve through organic and inorganic fertilization, making terraces and planting cover crops, so that there are 3 (three) potential subclasses namely potential S1 suitability classes (very suitable), S2 (quite appropriate), S3 (according to marginal) ) Included in the S1 potential suitability class (very suitable), namely SPL I. S2 potential suitability class (quite appropriate), namely SPL II, SPL III, SPL IV. S3 potential suitability class (according to marginal), namely SPL V. Keywords : Suitability of clove crop land
