This research was conducted with the aim to determine the effectiveness of epiphytic microbes against germination and vegetative growth of local upland rice. This research is a follow-up study carried out at the Pest and Disease Laboratory and the Biotechnology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University. Central Sulawesi. carried out starting from the preparation to the growth process to vegetative local upland rice plants starting in October 2017 until January 2018. The study used a completely randomized design method with one factor. The treatments that were tested were various sources of epiphytic microbial isolates (SE). SE0 : Zero source without microbes. SE4 : Source of four epiphytic microbial isolates at the location of Marena village with a height 628.7 m above sea level. SE5 : Source of five epiphytic microbial isolates at a marena village location with a height 596.2 m above sea level. SE8 : Source of eight epiphytic microbial isolates at the location of Winatu village with a height 957.3 above sea level. The results showed that the administration of epiphytic microbes significantly affected the observation of Plumula length, the length of the radicles and the appearance of flowers. The administration of epiphytic microbes did not affect the observation of plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, leaf area and leaf color chart.
