ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effectiveness of endophytic microbes on germination and vegetative growth of local upland rice. The use of this study is expected to be a source of information abouthe effectiveness of endophytic microbes on germination and growth of local upland rice. This research is a follow-up research conducted at the Agrotechnology Green House, Pests and Diseases Lab, Lab. Biotechnology Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu. Starting from June to December 2017. Experiments were compiled using a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor. The treatments tried were various endophytic microbial isolates (EN) originating from Winatu Village, Kulawi District, Central Sulawesi Province, namely: SENO: No microbial isolates, SEN6 : Sources isolated inside the leaves of Sara's Variety Endophyte microbes from the village Winatu at an altitude of 872.7 m asl, SEN8 : Sources isolated from the inside of the leaves of the Sara Variety Endophyte microbes from Winatu Village at an altitude of 850.8 m asl, SEN9 : Sources isolated from the inside of the leaves of the Endophytic microbes Sara Variety from Winatu Village at an altitude of 893.1 m above sea level. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Sources isolated in the leaves of the Endofit S9 microbe at an altitude of 893.1 m asl are effective against germination of local upland rice plants. Sources that are isolated from the leaves of the Endophytic S6 microbe at an altitude of 872.7 m ast are effective against the growth of local upland rice plants. Sources isolated from the leaves of the Endophytic S8 microbe at an altitude of 850.8 m above sea level only had a significant effect on the growth of local upland rice plant leaf area.
