Abstrak
This study aims to determine the right grafting time and the ideal number of rootstock leaves on the success rate of grafting cocoa seedling growth. This research was conducted in the nursery in Tanam Pedagi Village, Kec. Ampibabo, Kab. Parigi Moutong, from June to July 2017, then continued at the Agromoni Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu. The design of this study used a completely randomized 2-factor design. The first factor is the number of lower stem leaves consisting of 2 leaves (D1), 3 leaves (D2) and 4 leaves (D3). The second factor is grafting time consisting of morning (W1), afternoon (W2), and evening (W3) grafting time. With 9 treatment combinations repeated 3 times, each treatment contained 10 seed samples so there were 270 experimental units. The results showed that the treatment of the number of leaf stems of 2 and 4 strands connected in the morning and evening gave a better growth in the parameters of higher percentage of entris, higher seedlings, higher diameter of stem and diameter of entris and number of branches of entris more.
