Lukman, D 102 23043, Implementation Of Narcotics Evidence Handling Procedures Before and After Final Court Decicions, Supervised by Dr. H. Hamdan Rampadio,S.H., M.H., and Dr. Kamal, S.H., M.H. This research examines the implementation of narcotics evidence handling procedures before and after final court decisions, as well as its storage system within police investigation units. The research employs a normative juridical methodology, incorporating statutory, historical, and conceptual approaches. The findings reveal that the implementation of narcotics evidence handling comprises a complex series of processes requiring exceptional diligence. Prior to final court decisions, handling procedures focus on evidentiary aspects through stringent protocols encompassing seizure, weighing, sampling, storage, and comprehensive documentation while maintaining the Chain of Custody. Following final court decisions, the focus shifts to decision execution, typically involving evidence destruction through specialized procedures. The narcotics evidence storage system within police investigation units is implemented through structured mechanisms based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), utilizing specially secured rooms with multilayered security systems. However, this system exhibits limitations, particularly its dependence on manual documentation and lack of real-time digital system integration. System modernization through integrated digital technology implementation, strengthened supervision, and enhanced competency of evidence management personnel is necessary to address increasingly complex challenges in narcotics evidence handling.
