| Abstrak Nurul Putri Awaliah Nasution, Stb: D 102 21 045. Thesis Title: The Concept of Restorative Justice in Handling Crimes in the Criminal Justice System. supervised by Jubair and Abdul Wahid. The object of research to be questioned in this thesis work is how is the concept of restorative justice in criminal law renewal and what are the prospects for the formulation of restorative justice in criminal law reform? Assessment in finding answers to these problems the authors use normative research methods. Based on the results of the research, it can be seen that Restorative justice in criminal law reform is a concept that gives an understanding that all levels of society and components of law enforcement officials have an obligation to think about the best solution for criminal offenders and victims. The concept of restorative justice aims to restore the losses that have been caused by the crime committed. Restorative justice can happen if the perpetrator admits his mistake, the victim wants to apologize and wants to make peace without having to go to court. The concept of restorative justice can become legal politics that is permanent in building a future national criminal law system. The design has accommodated the principles of restorative justice as a method of solving problems outside the court, so it is very possible that the concept of restorative justice is used as a reform of criminal law in Indonesia in the future. The prospect of formulating restorative justice in criminal law renewal has been adapted in Indonesian law with the existence of regulations made by law enforcers, where the principles of restorative justice regulated in the internal provisions of case settlement from law enforcers are still implemented sectorally, not using a criminal law policy theory approach, namely renewal criminal law through the formation of laws made by the Government together with the DPR, as well as the theory of restorative justice as a whole, namely the approach to the concept of restorative justice. The restorative justice settlement response received positive appreciation from the community and law enforcement officials.
