Abstrak
RISKI AMELIA, 2024. “ The Role Guidance and Counceling Teachers for Improving Student Discipline in SMP Negeri 3 Palu”, Undergraduate Thesis. Guidance and Counceling Study Program, Education Science Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, Supervisor Nurwahyuni. This study aims to determine how the role of Guidance and Counselling Teachers in improving student discipline at SMP Negeri 3 Palu. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 6 people consisting of 3 Counselling Guidance Teachers, 2 students and 1 Principal. The research instruments used observation guidelines, interview guidelines and documentation guidelines. The type of interview used in this study is a guided free interview used to direct the outline of the things to be asked in the interview activities, but it does not rule out the possibility to ask questions outside the guidelines that are adjusted to the conditions and results of the field. Data obtained data reduction, data display, and conclusing drawing/verification. The results of data analysis can be known that the role of the Guidance and Counselling Teacher in improving student discipline at SMP Negeri 3 Palu is to give punishment in the form of positive activities such as cleaning the yard and planting trees to students when they make mistakes and provide guidance in the form of group, individual and parental guidance. And discipline in the school has improved enough but still needs to be held efforts because various violations of student discipline still exist.
