Abstrak ABSTRACT Sri Arini Jufri, 2025. “The Role of Guidance and Counseling Teachers in Increasing Students' Confidence in Speaking in Front of the Class Case Study of SMP Negeri 4 Sigi”. The purpose of this study was to describe the strategy of guidance and counseling teachers in increasing students' confidence in speaking in front of the class and to find obstacles in efforts to increase students' confidence in speaking in front of the class at SMP Negeri 4 Sigi. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis method. The informants in this study were five people consisting of two students, one subject teacher, one guidance and counseling teacher and one principal. The instrument in this study used in-depth interviews. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the strategy of guidance and counseling teachers in increasing students' confidence in speaking in front of the class is good. The strategies of guidance and counseling teachers at SMP Negeri 4 Sigi are relaxation and breathing techniques, classical guidance with the application of the Think-Pair-Share method, individual counseling services and group counseling services. However, guidance and counseling teachers still have major obstacles faced, namely the lack of support from parents. The results of this study show that the role of guidance and counseling teachers is very important in increasing students' confidence in speaking in front of the class.
