Abstrak AktifaPutri.2022. The Relationship between Parental Socioeconomic Status and Independent Learning of SMP Negeri 19 Palu Students. SKRIPSI.Guidance and Counselling Study Program. Education Science Department.Teacher Training and Education Faculty.Tadulako University.Under the supervision of RidwanSyahran The research objective is to identify parental socioeconomic status, students' independent learning, and the relationship between parental socioeconomic status and independent learning of SMP Negeri 19 Palu students. The research sample was 117 people. The descriptive analysis results on the socioeconomic status of the students' parents showed that none of the students' parents have very high socioeconomic status, 40.17% of students' parents have high socioeconomic status. 52.13% of parents have low socioeconomic status, and 7.69% of students' parents have very low socioeconomic status. Furthermore, the results of the descriptive analysis on learning independence showed that 10.25% of students have very high learning independence. 32.47% of students have high learning independence. 57.26% of students have low learning independence, and no student has very low learning independence. The results of the inferential analysis of the socioeconomic status of students' parents and students' learning independence obtained 0.187> 0.176, then H0is rejected. The results revealed a link between the parental socioeconomic status and the independent learning of SMP Negeri 19 Palu students.
