ABSTRACT Muliati Murlan, 2025. An Analysis of the Teacher's Role in Music Arts Learning in Grade V at SD Islam Alhidayah Besusu. Undergraduate Thesis, Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, Department of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education,TadulakoUniversity. Supervisor I: Yun Ratna Lagandesa, S.Pd., M.Pd.Supervisor II: Sisriawan Lapasere, S.Pd., M.Pd. This study aims to analyze the role of the teacher in mu 2sic education for fifth- grade students at SD Islam Alhidayah Besusu. Music learning at the elementary level functions to develop students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The teacher’s role is crucial and encompasses acting as a facilitator , classroom manager, motivator, supervisor, and demonstrator. A descriptive qualitative approach was taken, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. Findings indicate that the teacher effectively fulfilled roles as demonstrator and class manager. However, challenges emerged due to limited music facilities and the lack of specialized training for teachers— issues frequently reported in studies on elementary music instruction. The study recommends enhancing teacher competence through targeted professional development and providing sufficient resources and infrastructure to support effective music teaching.
