Learning in the 21st century is designed based on a constructivist contextual learning approach. Through this design, student class IV SDN 16 Sirenja will be accustomed to building their own knowledge based on a real context that is meaningful to them through activity scientific like observation, experimentation, observation, as well as carrying out information gathering activities from various sources through interviews or other similar activities. Method The research uses the Hopkins model design, which consists of 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The place for conducting the research was at SDN 16 Sirenja, the research subjects were 12 students, consisting of 10 male students and 2 female students. Data collection techniques using observation and test methods. Data analysis was carried out by means of data analysis qualitative and quantitative. The research results show that enhancement a student activity of 15.33%, in cycle I obtained category sufficient (71.33 %), increased in cycle II category very good (86.66 %). Enhancement teacher activity of 14.66 %, in cycle I obtained good category (76%), and cycle II very good category (90.66%). Data results student learning for classical absorption (DSK) pre -action (57.50 %), cycle I (74.14%) and cycle II (85.83%) increase by 11.69%. For classical learning completeness (KBK) pre-action (41.66 %), cycle I (75%) and cycle II (100%) improvement by 25%. Based on these results, it is concluded that the application of an environment-based scientific approach can increase activity and learning outcomes in class IV SDN 16 Sirenja.
