Pancasila and Civic Education Study Program, Social Science Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University Under the supervision of Alri Lande This research aims to find out (1) the factors that influence the lack of students’ nationalism attitude at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. (2) the role of the Pancasila and Civic Education teachers in building students’ nationalism attitudes at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. This research used qualitative descriptive research using a purposive sampling technique to determine the subjects in this study 25 people consisting of 2 Pancasila and Civic Education teachers and 23 students. The techniques of data collection were observations, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study were analyzed through 3 stages; they were: data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that (1) Factors influencing the lack of students’ nationalism attitude at SMP Negeri 6 Palu are internal factors such as laziness and lack of understanding of nationalism attitudes, while external factors such as family environment and school relationship. (2) The role of Pancasila and Civic Education teachers in building students' nationalism attitude is done during teaching and learning activities in the classroom, namely the teacher provides material that develops student nationalism. The teachers use instructional media and provide concrete examples for students to be emulated by students in both school and social relationship. Keywords: role, teacher, attitude, nationalism.
