Abstrak The objective of this research is to train systematic report of a social history course, explaining the steps in writing a research report of a social history course, outlining the weakness and strengths in writing report of a social history course. Writing research report exercise offer the students new insights, experiences, knowledge, teaching the students about the correct procedures of writing and data analysis. The steps in writing research report are: 1) set the theme, 2) explain the sources of the research (primary and secondary sources), 3) formulate the steps systematic model of writing, 4) distribute the students into some groups (identify problems, formulate research problem, prepare theoretical review, collect the data: through interview, observation, and documentation), 5) Develop systematic model report, 6) write a report, 7) draw conclusion. The weaknesses of the systematic model report are: 1) the structural-functional is theoretically rigid, 2) ignoring other historical phenomena that might support the historical event that is observed, 3) as if it ignored the basic component of social history that is a small group of community. Some strengths of the systematic report are: 1) observing human activity as a whole and continuous, 2) coherent in explaining a historical phenomenon, 3) observing the social structure in more detail. The training of the systematic model to the III semester of class B of 2016 students, Education History Study Program begins with the independence of students in the process of finding, obtaining and solving problems related to a social history research report.
