The ineffective learning process leads to a lack of student enthusiasm in learning history. The lack of student motivation in learning stems from educators' ineffective use of learning material. Educators do not make the best use of audiovisual media, and their lack of innovation in creating learning media causes pupils to become bored during the learning process. The research question: Does the use of audiovisual media affect student interest in learning history at SMKN 1 Pasangkayu? This research aimed to assess the impact of audiovisual media on learning interests in history among students at SMKN 1 Pasangkayu. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method and used a saturated sampling technique to select the sample of 39 students in grade X. The primary research method of data collection was questionnaires, with documentation and interviews serving as supplementary methods and statistical data analysis instruments. The researcher used the "r" product moment formula to analyze the data collected in this research; the obtained r-count = 0.558 and r-table = 0.316. It indicates that the r-count exceeds the r-table. The results of the calculation of the t-count value are compared to the t-table value by the level of confidence that has been set with degrees of freedom (dk = n-2), dk = 39-2 = 37 in the list of "t" tables obtained t-table 2.026. The use of audiovisual media (X) has a significance value of 0.000 (<0>2.026). It reveals that HO is rejected, but Ha is accepted. The results suggest that the usage of audiovisual media influences students' enthusiasm for learning history at Smkn 1 Pasangkayu. Keywords: use of audiovisual media, student learning interest
